Shoulder Complaints and Minor Sports Injuries

Some shoulder pain, may not even be shoulder pain at all, but merely a pain that has been referred from the neck into the shoulder such as with a “bulging disc”. A chiropractor will aim to treat a shoulder problem by first examining all the key areas of your shoulder first, including your neck and the upper thoracic spine and ribs. Most shoulder complaints are generally self limiting and will usually resolve reasonably quickly and completely with treatment from a chiropractor. Others might be more severe and take longer. Rotator cuff injuries, tendinopathy caused by repetitive use / strain, and referral pain from the neck tend to be the most common shoulder problems that present to a chiropractor.
Many minor sports injuries can be treated by a chiropractor. Sometimes after playing a hard game it's not unheard of for your joints to stiffen up, even with stretching. Many sports players may suffer with bad backs or necks, or even have shoulder complaints. These can be treated by a chiropractor and even if you have nothing wrong per se, many sports players find they benefit from receiving chiropractic as a preventative measure as part of their overall fitness and training regimen.
